Brean 2007

Five of King’s Lynn group made the trek to Brean Sands near Weston-Super-Mare for the Plus Easter Holiday and it was certainly well worth all the driving.  Best bits: Party in Hillingdon’s caravan Friday night/Saturday morning – headbanging in the kitchen!!  Going to bed as it was starting to get light. Being roped into line dancing on Saturday afternoon – not sure that was such a good idea – co-ordination suffered a battering after the Read more…

We’ve done it again!

Another award!  Presented at the National AGM in Warwick on 24th February 2007, National Best Group award. Think the grins on our faces say it all!!     From left:  John Smith (National Chairman), Julia, Paul, Christine T, Gerry Edwards (National Vice President)

Exercise

Just what some of us needed after a late night, a 7.5 mile walk on the north Norfolk coast! The weather was positvely spring-like, perfect. The walk started at the local deli where we stocked up with goodies to keep our energy up for the walk (I can recommend the treacle tart!).  We followed mostly roads, and being a reasonable sized group got the chance to chat with different people as we went. A mid-way Read more…

Romford & Havering Dr Who Disco

Seven of us travelled down to Hornchurch on Saturday night to attend the Dr Who disco run by Romford & Havering Plus Groups. A good do, made even better by the presentation of both the Best Group and Footsore trophies to our group during the course of the evening. We were sadly lacking in fancy dress, Colin’s cyberman mask being the only contribution, and I believe that was actually “borrowed” from his daughter for the Read more…

Award Winning Kings Lynn Plus!

At the East Anglian Area Conference held last weekend, King’s Lynn won two awards.  The first award is “Best Group”, the second was the “footsore” trophy (an award for covering most distance visiting other groups).  Well done to all our members. Christine

Funky Punky

On 13th January five members of Kings Lynn group headed down to London Colney to attend Barnet group’s “Funky Punky” disco.  One we haven’t been to before, and it seemed a bit odd to meet so many people we didn’t already know from other events.  It was a good event, particularly when Dawn won the first raffle prize of the evening – a bottle of chocolate mint Baileys, which was promptly tested by Paul – Read more…

HAPPY NEW YEAR (in advance!)

We have to be different, everyone else celebrates New Year’s Eve on 31st December, due to work committments, our New Year Party was held on 29th December instead – call it a pre-New Year’s Eve Party if you like!! We headed over to Dave & Sherie’s place at Necton – better weather this year, last year it was snowing and Paul was a little worried about his smart BMW loan car on the ungritted road!! Read more…

Xmas Meal

One of the few opportunities we get during the year to gather all of our local members in the same place at the same time!  A chance to catch up with people we haven’t seen for a while, and some we usually only get to see occasionally due to work/distance. Good food, good company, naff cracker jokes, need I say more! Some amusement during the evening when we drew the “Secret Santa/Bran Tub” presents.  Its amazing Read more…

You Bet!

Greyhounds at Peterborough 10th November 2006 What a brilliant idea – the week after WASH is always a bit of a letdown or anticlimax so what better way to counteract that than a trip to the Greyhounds! Some of us came away slightly better off financially than others – I believe Paul C had a good night – everything I bet on seemed to have three legs!  All the same we all had a great Read more…

WASH 2006

Wow – what a weekend – brilliant bands, great people and a few beers!!  Can’t quite believe its all over for another year. We’ve had glam rock, 80’s tributes and “morrismen”. Laser clay pigeon shooting, film, fireworks, land train (brilliant) and “water line dancing”.  Late mornings and “early” nights (think about it!)  Lost a lot of sleep, had a lot of fun. Hopefully the photos page will be up and running very soon and I Read more…
