What can I say – a big thanks to everyone who attended and made it such a brilliant weekend.

My personal highlights:

  • Sitting round in the hall eating pizza on Friday night, after getting drenched just fetching the car to pick it up.
  • Trying to play “Kerplunk” but not getting any further than trying to put the sticks in the tube, only to have them slide straight out the other side.
  • Playing flashing “boules” at about 2am (made rather more surreal by the alcohol consumed beforehand!)
  • Somehow turning the making of a fruit salad into a spectator sport.
  • Someone managing to convince Paul C that whilst drunk he had promised to sing “two little boys” in Saturday night’s karaoke (wasn’t me!).
  • Someone choosing the plastic Viking helmet over the set top box in the raffle – quality!!
  • Having a certain (rude) Monty Python song played for me – thanks Adam – I am still stunned that you actually had that in your collection!
  • Watching (with eyes closed at times) the Pink Floyd DVD when the disco finished.
  • Making lots of new friends – especially those who really didn’t want to pack up their tents and go home Sunday morning, and those who didn’t quite get round to putting up their tent in the first place and slept in their car instead! (talk about going to bed drunk and waking up to a real dog (or two) in the morning!!)

 Lessons I have learned:

  • Don’t wear a white skirt in the rain!
  • Don’t try to run in trousers that are too big for you with lots of heavy stuff in your pockets (or else make sure you are wearing decent underwear if you do!)
  • When playing flashing boules at 2am, wear your glasses so you can actually see the jack!
  • and finally, that there will always be someone with a camera-phone around when you are doing things that are likely to embarrass you when you are sober  – thanks Colin.

Feel free to add your own “best bits”!
